Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You by Pipilotti Rist

Expand your mind and activate your senses as you enter into Rist’s dazzling, immersive artwork Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You.

Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You is a new large-scale immersive video installation by the internationally renowned Swiss artist, Pipilotti Rist.

Commissioned by the National Museum to meet the unique dimensions of its gallery, the video is the artist’s first museum installation in the Middle East and invites visitors to embark on a journey of self-discovery through a multi-sensory experience that inspires introspection and awe.

A key feature of the work are the “pixels” that comprise 12,000 LED lights strung on cables throughout the gallery for visitors to navigate. Representing neurons, constantly firing and communicating with each other, the pulsing resin-encased bulbs have been programmed in choreography with the soundscape and feature abstract footage of Qatar’s landscapes.

Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You is curated by the Qatar Museums’ Curatorial Advisor, Tom Eccles, with the National Museum’s Head of Exhibitions, Bouthayna M Baltaji.

Please note: This exhibition contains flashing lights that may cause discomfort and/or trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy and other conditions with sensitivity to light.
